Antigua and Barbuda is looking to forge a deal with St Kitts and Nevis as part of its push for cheaper, more reliable energy.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne says talks are underway on a possible geothermal power arrangement involving St Kitts Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda and the European Union.

The prime minister says the idea is to help advance geothermal development in Nevis, then connect that power to Antigua once the project becomes viable.

He says the plan is part of a wider effort to reduce the country’s dependence on imported fossil fuels.

He was speaking recently on the Browne and Browne on Pointe Broadcasting Network.
