Government Announces Purchase of More Building Materials for Distribution
The government says another shipment of building materials will arrive in Antigua and Barbuda in coming weeks to continue with its programme of assistance to the most vulnerable households to repair their dwellings.
Cabinet discussed the issue at its meeting on Wednesday, and approved the decision to order the third shipment of materials.
The initiative started last year when the government spent over a million EC dollars to purchase the materials, and continued with a second shipment earlier this year, valued at a similar amount.
Several residents in various communities across the nation have so far benefitted from building materials free of cost, including the elderly and members of the disabled community.
