Cabinet Supports Young Antiguan Artist as Part of CHOGM 2026 Outreach Efforts

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has expressed its support for the continued development of 21-year-old Antiguan artist Kimberly Pimentel following a presentation of her CHOGM 2026-inspired artwork during Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting.

Pimentel was selected and challenged by the CHOGM 2026 Outreach Committee to create a piece of art that would capture the spirit of Antigua and Barbuda’s hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026. Her completed masterpiece brings together elements of Antigua and Barbuda’s landscape, culture and identity while highlighting the significance of the country hosting this major international event.

Following the presentation, Pimentel explained the concept behind the artwork and the inspiration that guided its creation. Members of Cabinet expressed their appreciation for the work and recognized the opportunity to further support the young artist as part of broader efforts to encourage Antiguan talent and creativity.

Prime Minister the Hon Gaston Browne welcomed the initiative and expressed his appreciation for Pimentel’s contribution to the national CHOGM effort.
