The United States has announced more than US$340 million in funding for Caribbean and Central American initiatives focused on digital connectivity, healthcare and regional security.

The funding was announced during the U.S.-Caribbean Dialogue hosted by Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau at the Department of State. The meeting brought together high-level delegations from 15 Caribbean countries and the Dominican Republic to discuss shared economic, energy and security priorities.  The largest allocation is US$175.8 million for the Caribbean and Central America Undersea Cables Program, which aims to expand high-speed undersea cable connectivity and strengthen the resilience of digital connections across the region.
