Information Minister Says The New Management Structure At ABS Is A Positive Development

Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications, the Hon. Melford Nicholas, has publicly attributed the positive changes at ABS to a change in the management structure, which became effective December 1, 2014.

In his contribution to the 2015 Budget presentation, Minister Nicholas, says he is happy with the public response to date.

He adds that ABS occupies a significant portion of the budget, which covers staff and function of the service.

Minister Nicholas believes that through collective efforts, ABS should truly become a digital platform by the end of this year.

He says ABS has tremendous potential and represents an avenue for cultural expression and entertaining programming.

Minister Nicholas details what can be expected from the entity in the upcoming months.

The information minister says next week, he will be attending the Caricom Telecommunications Union Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago, where he will be among other things  seeking training opportunities for members of staff and the establishment.
