WIOC Refutes Gas Shortage Claims
According to release from the WIOC, the company was unable to deliver gasoline to various service stations and other wholesalers on Monday.
The release states that the Petrotrin Refinery in Trinidad issued a late Force Majeure, which resulted in our supplier having to source gasoline from an alternate location delaying of the arrival of gasoline into Antigua.
WIOC says although it currently has adequate gasoline stock levels to supply the normal market demand, they are at lower levels in the tanks.
This forced the company to resort to using alternative suction methods to pump gasoline from lower tank levels, delaying WIOCs ability to get gasoline to various departments
The company pledges that its staff will work throughout the night to ensure that it is in a position to deliver gasoline to service stations from early Tuesday morning and will continue throughout the week to meet our normal market demand.
The company is appealing to residents to not to panic at this time by stock piling fuel as a full cargo of gasoline is expected at WIOCs Sea Island jetty towards the end of the week.
