MAJOR PROJECT IN PROGRESS TO TRANSFORM DELUXE CINEMA INTO PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE
Work has started to retrofit the old Deluxe Cinema building on High Street into the National Performing Arts Centre. The construction is being spearheaded by the National Housing and Urban Renewal Company.
Minister for Social and Urban Transformation and Chairman of National Housing, Hon. Rawdon Turner, and Minister for Creative Industries, Hon. Daryll Matthew, visited the site on Tuesday morning to get a firsthand view of the progress of the work.
The first phase of the project involves the demolition of the interior to create additional space and construct a stage for performance purposes.
This phase is expected to be completed within the next two to three months.
We will have details in Live @ 5 on ABS Radio 90.5 FM and in the Evening News at 7 on Television and Online.
