Major Progress Report on New Mental Health Facility

The government says it is making significant progress towards the opening of its mental healthcare facility in Seaview Farm.

The update was provided to ABS News by Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Teri-Ann Joseph. Dr Joseph say the new facility will support a more holistic approach to the country’s mental healthcare.

Updated Mental Health legislation is also in its final stages of being drafted. Youth leaders in schools across Antigua and Barbuda are providing their input on the proposed legislation through a series of consultations.

News of this comes days before the start of Mental Health Month, observed globally in May.
