APUA Fuel Variation Rate Rises Again

Electricity customers are facing another increase this month, as APUA’s fuel variation rate climbs again.

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority has set the fuel variation rate for June 2026 at 80 cents per kilowatt hour. That is a 10-cent increase over May’s rate of 70 cents. It also means the rate has risen by 25 cents in just two months, after holding at 55 cents in March and April.

APUA says the rate reflects the international market cost of fuel used to generate electricity.
