NEW BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER TO ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA
The United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean presented his credentials to Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne during a virtual ceremony on Monday.
The presentation of credentials by Scott Furssedonn-Wood follows his appointment to the post in April 2021.
He explains the issues which are central to the diplomatic engagement between his country and those in the Eastern Caribbean.
High Commissioner Furssedonn-Wood has been a diplomat for 21 years. Prior to his arrival in Barbados, he served as Deputy Private Secretary to HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.
Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne thanked the United Kingdom for its continued support and outlined what the developed world needs to do to assist small island developing states.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. E.P. Chet Greene and officials from his ministry were also a part of the virtual ceremony.
High Commissioner Furssedonn-Wood leads the UK’s recently-expanded diplomatic network in the Eastern Caribbean, and is represented in St John’s by the Resident British Commissioner, Lindsy Thompson.
