Bahamians to Vote in General Elections on May 12

Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Philip Davis, has announced May 12, 2026 as the date for the next general election. The Prime Minister says Parliamemt will be dissolved on April 8 to pave the wav for the polls.

General elections were constitutionally due no later than September this year. At the last election in September, 2021, Davis’ Progressive Liberal Party defeated the then governing Free National Movement.
